About the Job

Overview As a Principal Quality Engineering leader at Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG), you will drive initiatives of strategic significance with direct impact on our customer-facing Casino platforms. In this role, you will define and execute the long-term quality vision for highly scalable, resilient, and innovative systems within the Casino Engineering domain, while influencing quality practices across the broader organization. You will tackle complex challenges in software quality assurance, champion quality-first engineering practices, and shape technical direction at scale

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the quality strategy for Casino Engineering features and platforms, ensuring seamless execution across the full SDLC while aligning with enterprise-wide standards.
  • Partner with senior leaders in Casino Product, Engineering, UX, and Compliance to align on business-critical objectives and translate them into robust quality roadmaps.
  • Define the vision and standards for scalable automation frameworks and testing solutions within Casino Engineering, ensuring adoption across teams to accelerate release velocity and strengthen defect prevention.
  • Establish and evangelize quality engineering standards and best practices across teams, mentoring engineers and influencing leaders to adopt quality-centric development methodologies.
  • Implement forward-looking quality metrics, dashboards, and continuous improvement processes to ensure sustainable delivery of high-quality experiences at scale.
  • Represent FBG in external forums, conferences, and industry events to showcase thought leadership in software quality.
  • Be open to occasional travel to Fanatics Betting & Gaming offices and other locations for conferences, strategy workshops, and executive alignment sessions.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience with a proven track record of driving quality at scale.
  • 7+ years in a Quality Engineering leadership role with deep hands-on experience as an SDET/QAE.
  • Advanced experience in manual, grey-box, and white-box testing, paired with mastery in mobile (Android/iOS) and API automation.
  • Proficiency in modern coding and scripting languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python) with the ability to architect enterprise-level automation solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and implement scalable quality engineering frameworks and tools across distributed systems.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, metrics, and tools with experience influencing engineering practices across organizations.

Preferred

  • Thought leader in building and scaling automation strategies across multiple product lines.
  • Proven ability to create executive-level quality reporting and insights that influence product and engineering direction.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in improving product coverage, efficiency, and defect prevention strategies.
  • Experience working directly with executive leadership, effectively communicating quality strategies and outcomes at the C-suite level.
  • Exceptional organizational and program management skills, with experience overseeing multiple, large-scale test initiatives simultaneously.
  • Comfortable operating in highly ambiguous, fast-paced environments and driving clarity and alignment across stakeholders.
  • Passion for mentoring and developing the next generation of quality engineering leaders.

The expected salary range for this role is based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for the Fanatics Betting and Gaming annual bonus program and an equity award. *Salary range is listed in USD; actual salary will vary based on location. *Salary Range: $192,000 – $315,000 per year (actual salary will be determined in part by a successful candidate’s geographic location). In addition to base salary, bonus, and equity, full-time employees are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, paid time off, and other benefits like GymPass, Pet Insurance, Family Care Benefits, and more. We’ll also give you $700 to set up your home office!

This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in one of the following states: AL, AZ, GA, IA, IN, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, NE, NH, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WI, WV. Alternatively, we are open to a hybrid role based in Denver, CO.
